Notification issued 3/20/18 at 6:55 PM. Due to winter weather conditions, the New York City Department of Education has announced that all public schools will be closed tomorrow, 3/21. When: 3/21 6AM to 3/22 6AM
Hazards: 11-15"(inches) of snow. Roads may be dangerous & strong winds may cause power outages.
Preparedness Actions: Use caution when walking, biking, or driving.
Before an Outage
- Charge cell phones
- Gather supplies
- Turn refrigerator/freezers to a colder setting
During an Outage
- Stay clear of downed power lines
- Turn off all appliances
- Keep refrigerator/freezer doors closed to prevent food spoilage
- Do not use generators indoors
- If you have a disability/access needs, or use Life Sustaining Equipment (LSE) and need immediate assistance, dial 911.
